IDAT106: GPS Mapping

In the brief of this short project we were asked to draw out an outline of a graphic we would like to use and draw this outline using GPS. This GPS map had to be drawn within the boundaries of the university campus, using roads and alleys to define the edges. I decided to draw a yacht type outline, as it was the first thing which popped into my mind looking at a top-down view.

Here is the raw GPS data placed onto a google maps satellite view, you cant quite see the outline perfectly, but you can get a rough idea of the route that was taken.

Also here is an image with a combination of the satellite view, the GPS dots and the original photoshop drawing together. As you can see with the base of the mast I didnt realise the shape of the side alley through the car park, so I had to take a small detour around the edge.
